Tatfook performs its social responsibilities actively, keep following the rules, make the innovation and team co-work continuously, owning the core competence, to be the industry leader and keep development healthily.

Tatfook established the management system since 2003, and integrated social responsibility management into its business according to market demand and the customer requirement. Since 2006, Tatfook established its own Social Responsibility Manual, Code Of Conduct, Labor Policy, Business Ethics Policy, Conflict Minerals Policy, sustainable procurement policy and other system documents to support the social responsibility management improvement.

Choose employment rights freely: Abide by the national labor law, accordingly to the principle of voluntariness. Sign the labor contract formulated in the native language with all employees. Shall not employ forced labor, workers bound by mortgage or contract, and Prison labor. It is not allowed to set unreasonable restrictions for employees to be in/out the workplace, or their freedom in the workplace. No mandatory overtime. Employees shall have their right freely to sign and terminate their labor contracts. Forbid to detain the employee’s ID card. Any unreasonable fees should not be charged to employees.

Do not employ child labor and protect underage workers: Prevent the employment of children in any production process. Underage workers shall not be arranged in work that may be not good for health or safety, including night shift and overtime. No matter inside or outside the workplace, Children or underage workers shall not be kept in the dangerous environment that is not good for their physical and mental health.

Working hours: Comply with government regulations on working hours and overtime control. To meet RBA COC requirement, the employees work time shall not exceed 60 hours per week if non-emergency or abnormal case. And they shall be provided with at least one day off in every seven-day period.

Wages and benefits: The salary paid to employees shall not be lower than the minimum wage standard set by the local government. Pay overtime in accordance with the requirements of the national labor law. Provide the salary in time and accurately. And do not take salary deduction as a means of disciplinary punishment. Provide holidays, vacations and legal holidays as required by laws or policies.

Humane treatment: No inhumane treatment such as sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, physical coercion and verbal insult shall be imposed on employees.

Non discrimination & Diversity & inclusiveness: Promises that all employees will be free from harassment and illegal discrimination. Respect the differences between people. While recruitment and employment (such as salary, promotion, reward and training opportunities), whether employees are suitable for this role will be determined based on their personal performance, qualification and ability, and will not be discriminated against due to race or ethnic origin, skin color, gender, age, religious belief, military service status, sexual orientation, gender identity and gender performance, pregnancy, nationality, disability, political appearance, community membership, protected genetic information or marital status. Except for the relevant requirements of applicable laws and regulations or for the sake of workplace safety, shall not force employees to have a pregnancy test or a physical examination or medical examination that may have discriminatory purposes.

Freedom of association: Respects the rights of all employees to freely associate, join trade unions, collective bargaining and participate in peaceful assembly, and respects the right of employees not to participate in such activities. Employees and employee representatives can participate in and negotiate management practices related to work environment and occupational health and safety without fear of discrimination, retaliation, threat or harassment.

Health and safety permits: Obtains and updates all necessary occupational health and safety permits, registration materials and regulatory approval materials continuously according to the law, and complies with the relevant provisions of these permits.

Occupational health and safety management: Identifies, evaluates and manages occupational health and safety hazards by eliminating hazards, replacing, engineering control, administrative control processes and prioritizing the provision of personal protective equipment. Regularly implement industrial health monitoring, assessment and occupational health monitoring in the workplace according to the laws and regulations requirements.

Emergency preparedness and response: Identify and evaluate potential emergencies and emergencies, and minimize their risk through the implementation of emergency plans and response procedures, including emergency reports, employee notification and evacuation procedures, employee training and drills, appropriate fire detection and suppression equipment, obvious escape routes, adequate exit facilities and recovery plans. Such plans and procedures shall minimize damage to life, environment and property.

Industrial injury and occupational disease: Develop procedures to prevent, record, track and manage industrial injury and occupational disease, including the following provisions: encourage employees to report actual case. Make Classification and recording for all industrial injury and occupational disease cases, provide necessary medical services. Investigate cases and take corrective measures to eliminate the source of accidents and help employees return to work.

Industrial Hygiene: According to the principle of hierarchical control, identify, evaluate and control the hazards brought to workers by chemical, biological and physical factors. If any potential hazards are found, should look for opportunities to eliminate or reduce the potential hazards. If it is not feasible to eliminate or reduce hazards, the potential hazards shall be controlled through appropriate design, engineering change and management control measures. When the potential hazards cannot be fully controlled through these measures, employees should be provided with and allowed to use appropriate and well-maintained protective equipment with free of charge. The protection plan should be ongoing, and includes risk education materials related to these hazards.

High intensity manual labor: Identify, evaluate and control the impact of workers under high intensity manual labor, including handling, loading and unloading the materials by manually, lifting the heavy objects repeatedly, long-term standing and highly repetitive or high intensity assembly work.

Machine safety protection: Conduct safety risk assessment for production equipment and other equipment. For the equipment that may cause injury to workers shall be fitted with physical protection, interlocking devices, also need to be protected and maintained properly.

Public health, catering and accommodation: Provide the clean toilet facilities, drinking water and hygienic food. The dormitory provided by the company or a third party must be clean and safe, with emergency exit, hot water for bath, plenty of light and ventilation, independent safety cabinet for storing personal and valuables, and reasonable private space for easy access.

Health and safety communication: Share the workshop health and safety information, provide the training in their mother tongue or language that employees can understand, so that they can correctly understand the workplace hazard signs they are exposed to, including but not limited to equipment, electrical, chemical, fire and physical injuries. Health and safety related information shall be clearly posted in the factory or posted in a conspicuous position visible. Provide the necessary training before and after work, to encourage employees to raise safety issues for further improvement.

Environmental permit: Obtained, maintained and updated the necessary environmental permits and certificate, and complied with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations (eg. emission monitoring).

Prevent pollution and save resources: Take measures to reduce or eliminate the discharge, release of pollutants and the generation of waste from the source, such as increasing pollution control equipment, improving production, maintenance and facility processes, and other useful and effective measures. To use natural resources in a controlled manner, including water, fossil fuels, minerals and virgin forest wood, such as improving production, maintenance and equipment processes, using alternative materials, reuse, resource conservation, recycling strategies, ect.

Hazardous substances: Identify, mark and manage chemicals and other materials that pose risks to humans or the environment to ensure their safe handling, transfer, storage, use, recycling or reuse and disposal.

Solid waste: Use systematic methods to identify, manage and reduce solid waste, including general waste and hazardous waste, and dispose or recycle them responsibly.

Exhaust emission: Volatile organic chemicals, spray, corrosive substances, suspended particulates, ozone-depleting chemicals and combustion by-products generated from operation activities need to be classified, monitored, controlled and processed as required before discharge. Conduct routine monitoring of the operation of the exhaust emission control system.

Restricted substances: Should comply with relevant laws, regulations and customer requirements on banning or restricting the use of certain specific substances (including recycling and disposal marks) in products and manufacturing processes.

Water resources management: Implements water resources management plan to record, classify and monitor water usage and discharge. Seek ideas to protect water resources and control pollution. All wastewater shall be classified, monitored, controlled and treated as required before discharge or disposal. Routine monitoring of the operation of the wastewater treatment and control system to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

Energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions: Make greenhouse gas emission reduction plan, to track and record energy consumption and all relevant class 1 and class 2 greenhouse gas emissions, and work out ideas to improve energy efficiency and minimize energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Business integrity: Adheres to the highest standard of integrity in all business dealings. Adopt a zero-tolerance policy and prohibit bribery, corruption, extortion and corruption in any form.

No undue advantage: Do not promise, offer, grant, give or accept bribes and other forms of benefits for the purpose of obtain illegal or improper advantages. The prohibition includes, directly or indirectly, promising, offering, authorizing, giving or receiving anything of value through a third party in order to obtain or retain business, or directly offering business to any person or otherwise obtaining an improper advantage. Monitoring, record retention and enforcement procedures should be in place to ensure compliance with anti-corruption laws.

Information disclosure: All business dealings should be recorded transparently and correctly. Discloses labor health and safety, environmental practices, business category, organization, financial and profit status accordingly to relevant regulations and current industry practices. It is not allowed to forge records or falsely report various actual operations in the supply chain.

Protect intellectual property rights: Respects intellectual property rights. The transfer of technology or practical experience knowledge is subject to the protection of intellectual property rights, and protects the information security of customers and suppliers.

Fair dealing, advertising and competition: Adheres to the standards of fair business, advertising and competition.

Identity protection and anti-retaliation policy: Implement the reasonable complaint management mechanism, to ensure the protection of the whistleblowers from suppliers and employees, and the confidentiality and anonymity of their reports. The company establishes communication procedures for employees so that employees can ask any questions without fear of retaliation.

Responsible mineral procurement: Develop policies to ensure that the mineral tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold in the products are under control, in order to conduct due diligence on those minerals source and supply chain. Provide the necessary data and report as the customer request.

Privacy: Promises to protect all people personal information, includes suppliers, customers, consumers and employees, with whom it has business dealings, so as to meet all people expectations to protect their reasonable privacy. When collecting, storing, processing, transmitting and sharing personal information, should comply with the requirements of laws and regulations related to privacy and information security.

The company promises: Corporate social responsibility, environment and ethics policy statement in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and commitment to continuous improvement, signed by management and issued in local language at the factory.

Management accountability and responsibility: Appoint the management representative of the social responsibility management system, and the top management and management representative should ensure the implementation of the social responsibility management system and relevant schemes. The top management should review the status of the management system regularly.

Legal and customer requirements: Establish and implement procedures to identify, monitor and understand applicable laws and regulations, social responsibility standards and customer requirements.

Risk assessment and risk management: Establish and identify procedures for business-related legal compliance, environment, health and safety, labor practice and moral hazard. Determine the relative importance of each risk level, and implement appropriate procedures and control measures to control the identified risks and ensure compliance.

Improvement target: Develop written performance target, indicators and implementation plans, and check and review these target and plans status regularly, so as to improve the corporate social responsibility, environmental, health and safety performance.

Training and communication: Train the management and employees to implement the corporate policies, procedures and improvement target to meet the laws and regulations requirements. Establish communication policies to clearly and accurately communicate policies, practices, expectations and performance information to employees, suppliers and customers.

Employee feedback, participation and grievance: Establish and implement procedures, including a grievance mechanism, to evaluate the employees understanding of the corporate social responsibility policy, code of conduct and obtain feedback to promote continuous improvement. Provide a safe environment for employees to voice grievances and provide feedback without fear of retaliation.

Review and evaluation: Carry out self-assessment or internal audit regularly to ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to social responsibility, social responsibility standards and customer requirements.

Corrective action process: Corrective action procedures shall be implemented for violations or deficiencies found through internal and external audit, evaluation, inspection, investigation or review.

Documents and records: Create and maintain documents and records to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and comply with the corporate requirements and relevant confidentiality provisions for privacy protection.

Supplier responsibilities: Establish relevant procedures to communicate social responsibility guidelines to suppliers and monitor their compliance.
